Flood Control Govt. Priority: Khand
Biratnagar, Aug. 23: The government is opting all necessary measures to control floods, said Minister for Irrigation Bal Krishna Khand.
"The government will not sign any treat and agreement on controlling the Koshi that would cause massive damage to Nepal," he said speaking at a press conference organised here this morning.
Referring to political context, he said that the Nepali Congress (NC) is not engaged in toppling the government, but focused on drafting the new constitution on time.
He said that the Constituent Assembly elections was held by the Congress-led government, thus timely framing of the new constitution falls under priority of the party.
Pointing towards the agitation launched by the Unified CPN (Maoist), he said that peaceful stirs will help strengthen democracy.
"The present government is the national government since 22 parties representing the Constituent Assembly have supported it," he claimed. He said that the chairman of the Constitutional Committee will be selected very soon. RSS
